David J. Fuerst, M.D. is a prominent ophthalmic surgeon who has been performing corneal, cataract and refractive surgery for over 30 years. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a respected consultant and educator.

David J. Fuerst, M.D. received his Sc. B. (1975) and MD (1978) degrees from Brown University. He interned at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois. He was awarded a fellowship in corneal surgery and external eye disease at the University of California, San Francisco. He was named Director of the Corneal Service at White Memorial Medical Center, where he also served as ophthalmology residency program director. Dr. Fuerst has published several scientific papers, contributed to ophthalmic textbooks, and has trained residents and fellows in ophthalmology.

Dr. Fuerst served as President of the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons(CAEPS) in 2003. He has also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CAEPS.

Dr. Fuerst performs ophthalmic surgery at Specialty Surgical Center of Arcadia and the San Gabriel Valley Surgery Center. Laser refractive procedures are performed at Laser Eye Associates near Cedars Sinai Medical Center. All of these facilities provide excellent care and have state-of-the-art equipment.

Nicole M. Fuerst, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery and external disease.

Dr. Fuerst is a native of Los Angeles. She graduated cum laude with an Sc.B. in Biology from Brown University and received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital at Cornell University and returned to the University of Pennsylvania for residency at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute. Dr. Fuerst then completed a 2-year fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Duke Eye Center at Duke University. Her research interests include dry eye disease and anterior segment imaging to improve surgical outcomes.

Dr. Fuerst has presented her research at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO).

She is fluent in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with friends and family.
